The Event

Cutting Edge Coatings brings together specialists from the photonics industry and research community.

On June 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m., the 45th Meeting of the DUV-VUV-Working Group will take place at our location at Hollerithallee 18 in Hanover. Participants can expect a diverse program featuring presentations from research and industry, complemented by a production tour. The evening before, there will be an opportunity for personal networking at a gathering at the nearby Finca & Bar Celona Hannover Marienwerder.

The event will be held in German.

About the DUV-VUV Focus Group

The DUV-VUV Focus Group was jointly established over 20 years ago by PhotonicNet and Optence e.V.. It is organized by Dr. Henrik Ehlers and Dr. Michael Kennedy (Laseroptik GmbH, Garbsen) and meets twice a year at rotating locations. Each meeting is hosted by companies or research institutions in the optics industry. In addition to technical presentations, the focus is on providing insights into current research and development activities—often supplemented by tours of the institute or company.

Optence e.V. is an innovation network for optical technologies in Germany and has been committed to cooperation and knowledge transfer in the photonics industry for over 20 years. The network connects over 100 members from industry and research across the entire value chain of optical technologies. PhotonicNet is a network of stakeholders from science and industry dedicated to promoting innovative photonics technologies.

The event is organized by Cuttinge Edge Coatings in collaboration with Laseroptik GmbH. Laseroptik GmbH, based in Garbsen, develops and manufactures high-performance optics and coatings for laser applications in industry, medicine, and research.

The opportunity to speak with leading experts and scientists helps foster valuable partnerships and networking opportunities.

Tour of the production facility

At the end of the event, there will be an opportunity to take part in a small-group tour of the production facilities at Cutting Edge Coatings.
